First, I believe it is necessary to clarify the meaning behind the name of any organization or business. Say, for instance, a store-front posts the sign "Mother's". Do you take a chance that it's a maternity shop? Maybe it's a support group office. Did you know in the old Peter Gunn show, "Mother's" was his favorite bar?
Most all of the ladies in this little group have some sort of viable, money-making hobby. Years ago, when you made a little money from home, it was on the side and was called your "butter and egg" money (even if you didn't get it from butter and eggs). If you were really good and ignored the house, spouse and kids just enough, it became a "cottage industry." Of course, these days it's a "home-based business" and you can write off the child labor as contract out-sourcing. None of us has reached that level.
Like most women who cling and clump together often enough, we all have our "diva" moments. One shines and the others encourage and applaud. Or maybe, one struggles and the rest rally 'round and protect like she-bears while comforting like mother cats.
The two words just fit us: Cottage Divas.
Now as for the "Eternal 7's"...we all belong to an organization where our group's identification is #7777. A groupie named us the Eternal 7's.
Now you know the name. Next comes the revelation of our linking as soul sisters. (We do sound like a bit of a cult don't we , Dh?) If I can just get the others to cooperate and write their part! So get with it Dh, T, B, Mdu, Mdo, J and Dc! And as of the last Garden Party...I think G has become indoctrinated!
Toodles,
Miz Mel
I would love to contribute, if only I was somehow given access to the mainframe. I don't know how to set my writing into the blog. Help please...
